The Sheffield Finance Committee is appointed by the Town Moderator, with ratification by the Board of Selectmen.
The Finance Committee serves as the Advisory Board, making recommendations to Town Meeting on the Town Budget and all Warrant Articles. In addition, the Finance Committee approves appropriations from the Reserve Fund.
The Finance Committee meets on an as-needed basis, except for the months of February - April, when weekly or bi-weekly meetings are held to review the Annual Town Budget and Warrant Articles for the Annual Town Meeting.
