Directions to Apply for an Real Estate/Personal Property Abatement in the Town of Sheffield for Fiscal Year 2009
1) Obtain form by clicking below.
2) Complete sections 'A' and 'B' on the form with all necessary information from your tax bill.
3) Section 'C': Briefly explain your reason an abatement is warranted. Please attach any additional information (i.e. appraisals)
4) Section 'D': date and sign the application
5) File the Form Timely with the Assessors Office. In order to be considered filed timely, the application must be received by the Assessors office by the deadline of February 1, 2009, or mailed to the Assessors office, P.O. Box 325, Sheffield, MA 01257 by the United States Postal Service, first class prepaid, on or before the deadline, as shown by a postmark made by the United States Postal Service.
